Marketing, sales and events have been a way of life for Kappi for over 30 years. Destination marketing has become her specialty, after a decade in the hotel business and a 7-year career as Marketing Director for the East Bay's premier entertainment destination, Jack London Square. Kappi was the mastermind behind the destination's advertising, public relations, community relations and promotional activity from its inception in 1990. Kappi drew from all her previous marketing and event experience to start Grace Under Pressure Productions Ltd. in 1997, including expertise gained from her days as co-owner of the first used computer store in the country!

She continues to be heavily involved in the community through many committees and boards. Kappi was a member of the committee to attract Cirque Du Soleil, and has been a board member of The Oakland Marketing Board, the Oakland Convention and Visitors Bureau, West Alameda Business Association, Family Builders By Adoption, Festival at the Lake Advisory Board and the American Cancer Society. The Oakland Chamber of Commerce's Business Arts Council named Kappi 'Outstanding Business Leader' in 1995.

Kappi graduated with her B.A. in Marketing from San Francisco State University in 1978. Kappi maintains a steady curriculum of study and further education. She resides in Alameda with her son, Billy, daughter, Anca, and dogs Tippy and Grace. Kappi also enjoys hosting special events of her own, entertaining friends and family.
